Fun with puppets!

October 8, 2010

There are so many homemade puppets you can make with kids and they just love it! I got the ideas for these from a book called: “Easy-to-Make Puppets and How to Use Them”

Paper Bag Boy Puppet

Have your child color his/her personal puppet and cut and paste each body part to a paper bag. You might want to write the child’s name on the puppet.

"My Feelings" stick puppets

Have your child help you paste each “feeling” face on a stick. Talk about feelings and how to recognize how we feel and why. You can talk about each puppet, why it is sad or happy and what makes your child happy or sad, etc.  Here are some cute little poems to use:

HERE IS A FACE

Here is a face that is crying; Here is a face that is angry; Here is a face that is sad; Here is a face that is afraid; And here is a face that is happy. God Loves Them All!!

WHO FEELS HAPPY?

Who feels happy? Who feels gay? All who do, Clap your hands whis way. Who feels happy? Who feels gay? All who do, Nod your heads this way. Who feels happy? Who feels gay? All who do, Tap your shoulders this way.

Silly Sock Puppet

My son loved this one and kept asking her to read him books! 🙂
